Luxury Pedicures

There are 26 bones in each of our feet and every bone has it’s own job to do. Our feet are the foundation of our body and balance and when any one part of our feet is not working correctly, it can put us off balance and displace our centre of gravity. The knock-on effect of this can result in knee, hip and/or back pain and even headaches.

When you see someone who has been standing all day (shop assistants, hairdressers, waiters etc) then the discomfort in the feet is often relayed to the facial expression. You have probably heard the saying “Sit down and take the weight off your feet”; with good cause! Rubbing or massaging the feet is often found to give some much needed relief and the reason for this can be linked to reflexology. Reflexologists believe that the feet are like a map to the rest of the body and each area of the foot relates to organs, endocrines and body parts – is it any wonder then, that when we massage the feet, we begin to feel so much better!

During a Luxurious Pedicure your feet will be treated to a warm soak in an aromatherapy foot bath, followed by an extra special treatment to slough away rough, dry skin and reveal the fresh, clean layer beneath, leaving invigorated, soft, smooth-feeling feet. Excess cuticles will be trimmed and the nails cut and filed to shape. Then you will be treated to a hot wax foot bath, wrapped up to keep warm – this period can often give a lot of relief to those that suffer with arthritis as the warmth is deeply penetrating. After the wax removal then you can experience a wonderful relaxing foot and lower leg massage, using nourishing aromatherapy creams that will help ease tensions and boost circulation. If you would like to have polish applied to the toe nails this can be done also. You may have arrived feeling like you are carrying the world on your shoulders, but I think you may leave feeling like you are walking on air! A good pedicure is good not only for your feet but for your general sense of well-being. Try one, you will soon feel the benefit.
