Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is taken from two words used to describe a branch of herbal medicine. “Aroma” means a pleasant scent and “therapy” describes the treatment that aims to cure a physical or mental condition. The scents used are pure essential oils made from flowers, leaves, herbs, bark and roots valued for their own particular therapeutic properties.
Using pure essential oils helps to increase the healing potential of your body and all oils are specifically chosen for each individual’s needs, whether that be ease pain, relax the mind or detoxify the body. After a full, free, consultation is taken then warmed oils are chosen; even before your massage starts you will inhale the aromas and this in itself can have an effect on your mind and emotions. Once the aromatherapy massage starts then the beneficial properties of the oils are carried through your skin into your bloodstream and all areas of the body, where they react with your body chemistry in a similar way to drugs. It can take between 20 minutes to several hours for the body to absorb the oils used and once the benefits of the oils have been absorbed then they are eliminated from the body by way of breath, urine, feces and perspiration.
People of all ages can benefit from Aromatherapy Massage. Babies form their first bond with their carers through the sense of touch and they love the feel of gentle massage. Elderly people benefit from regular massage to help improve flexibility and reduce inflammation in joints. Seriously ill people can also often enjoy the benefits of a caring professional massage.
Throughout the massage your modesty is preserved with carefully placed thick, fluffy towels. The treatment room is warm and an electronic couch is used for your comfort and aid to get on and off the couch more easily.
Massage can help many conditions, including:
Anxiety, Arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, Back Pain, Bereavement, Bronchitis, Catarrh, Constipation, Depression, Digestive Problems, Headaches, High Blood Pressure, Insomnia, Clenched painful jaw problems, Migraine, Parkinson’s Disease, Poor Circulation, Shoulder pain, Stress and much more.
